about
“Virsa” is the Urdu word for heritage. Born in India’s culturally diverse and historically wide art landscape, The Virsa Collective aims to ground a passion for art and creativity in culture and tradition. In a country brimming with a plethora of art forms, where every stroke draws inspiration from the past and taps into the present, we aim to document the lives of those who keep it all alive – the artisans – and those who’ll nurture it further – the children. We thrive to document the lives of such artisans and host creative workshops with children, especially in the slums of New Delhi, to not only learn and preserve heritage, but also create art and happiness inventing a new direction of expression.
